By posting what you did in my thread, I feel that you gave me an opening to say the kind of thing I usually don't say unless asked.
Perhaps you have never seen the signature that I use on another site: "One who believes in himself has no need to convince others." It is a quote from the Tao de Ching.
I have noticed that you put a lot of time and energy into convincing others of one thing or another. You are too eager to explain yourself when there's no reason to explain anything at all, and then you go way overboard. When you start arguing it brings you down to their level. And when you start insulting them, you lose all coolness and credibility, and you end up embarrassed and apologetic the next day.
Back off a little. Let the dogs bark. Don't be so reactive. Allow others to say what they want and let it pass. You don't have to comment on every little thing. Many things are best ignored. Just do the thing that you do best -- pick winners -- and leave the rest alone for a while. Your current way of handling things is digging you in deeper and deeper, and it also eggs them on.
Relate to others from a place of inner stillness and silence. Don't go so far overboard with words. The more wordy you get, the more they'll ignore you. You'll never convince anyone of anything, so why bother?
Anyway, just some thoughts to consider. Take them for what they're worth. Know that they are coming from a place of friendship with the intention of being helpful.
